Review Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Business profiles on Gym Pros show two kinds of reviews. Google reviewscome from the business's public Google profile, and Google controls them. Gym Pros reviews are written by customers on this site. This policy covers Gym Pros reviews.
How a review gets published
- You rate the business from 1 to 5 stars, describe the repair, and confirm that you aren't connected to the business or a competitor and weren't paid or rewarded for the review.
- We email you a link to confirm your address. Reviews that aren't confirmed within 48 hours are never published.
- A person on our team then reads the review. If it follows this policy, we publish it and email you a link. Otherwise we email you the reason it wasn't published.
- We show your first name and last initial (for example, “Jane S.”). We never show your email address.
Negative reviews are never removed for being negative
A 1-star review gets the same treatment as a 5-star review. We don't reject, hide, delay, or reorder reviews because they are critical. Businesses can't pay to remove reviews, and listing with us doesn't give a business any say over its reviews.
Why a review may be rejected
We reject a review, or take down a published one, only for one of these reasons:
- Spam: Advertising, links, gibberish, or anything that isn't an account of a real repair or service visit.
- Abuse: Threats, harassment, hate speech, or profanity aimed at a person.
- Off-topic: Reviews that aren't about a repair or service experience with this business, such as complaints about an equipment brand or a different company.
- Conflict of interest: Reviews written by the business's owner, staff, or family, by a competitor, or in exchange for payment, a discount, or another reward.
- Personal info: Phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses, or a staff member's full name. You can use first names.
- Duplicate: We keep one review per customer per business. If you review the same business again, your newest approved review replaces the earlier one.
If a review is rejected, we email the reviewer the reason. A review that breaks one of these rules only in part is still rejected as a whole. We don't edit reviewers' words.
The “Requested via Gym Pros” badge
Some reviews carry a Requested via Gym Pros badge, which means the reviewer is a Verified Customer. The badge appears when the confirmed email address on the review matches a repair request that person sent to that business through Gym Pros before confirming the review. It shows we know the reviewer contacted the business through us.
Reviews without the badge are still from confirmed email addresses and still pass the same moderation. Many customers find a repair pro some other way, and their reviews count just the same.
Questions or concerns
If you think a review breaks this policy, or you're a business owner with a concern about a review, contact us or email [email protected]. Tell us which business and review you mean. We check every report against this policy, and a review stays up unless it breaks one of the rules above.
