Our 3-year old treadmill began to act strangely. The belt jerked slightly and it became harder to raise the speed. Soon we lost the ability to increase the speed at all. We called the phone number with the instruction/owner's manual and they sent someone. Some parts still covered by the warranty were replaced and it seemed better... but still didn't seem right. Because we really depend on this machine, especially when it gets cold, I tried to find someone on line. I happened upon this company by calling a local sports' equipment store in our area. Wow, great find! Alan(Allen?) was very responsive and came right out as soon as his schedule allowed. (We're about an hour away.) What he suspected over the phone was exactly what the problem was: too much lubricant under the belt. We're thrilled! The price was reasonable, the service terrific and prompt, and we have our valued treadmill back before the snow flies. Thank you General Fitness Services!

After months of searching for a used refurbished commercial treadmill I came upon General Fitness Services. I found them on FB marketplace and saw the model I wanted and messaged them. I received a response almost immediately. I visited their warehouse, checked out the treadmill and they delivered it to my house the next day. They handle all of the refurbishing and also the disassembly and reassembly for delivery and installation so you know it’s being done correctly. Most other companies dealing in this type of equipment have third parties handling deliveries and they are not familiar with treadmills. I can’t say enough good things about the experience I had with GFS in this significant purchase. They are highly knowledgeable, they communicate great and are very personable. If you are in the market for gym equipment, this is the place to go!

Allen, Steve and team were great. They went above and beyond to let me test and hold the equipment at their shop. Perfect quality, price, and customer service. We bought a commercial refurbished Matrix Climbmill from them, so a very meaningful purchase.

Love these guys, no haggle, no hassle, total professionals. We bought a Matrix treadmill and it was delivered an set up within a couple of days of visiting their facility. Steve, Wayne and Pat were great to deal with and would highly recommend them.

I have an old Life Fitness recumbent bike that no longer powers up. I called these guys and they spent all sorts of time researching the problem with my specific model even though they weren't going to make much money on the repair. They clearly know their stuff, and are really good people. They're pros.

You can't give a company zero stars in a review, but that's how I would score them. I called and asked about a USED $5,000 treadmill, and when I questioned the guy about the price, he said"I don't care if you don't buy it. Somebody else will." And, that was that. So, if you are looking for even a basic welcome, I would look at another store. I did.

I cannot speak highly enough about how pleased I am with the service I received here. Allen was highly responsive, helpful, and friendly. I would absolutely recommend anyone with exercise equipment that needs maintenance to go here. Great business and very helpful staff.

Amazing customer service, and I’m not even a customer yet! The guy I spoke with about potentially repairing my 15-year-old treadmill was incredibly helpful. He could have charged me $$$ for repair but suggested I buy new online (i.e. not from General Fitness Maine) because all I need is residential not commercial. The guy gave me ideas, suggestions, guidance, even models and price ranges to look for, and then for the cost of a service call General Fitness will come to my house and assemble my purchase and make sure everything is good to go. 1000% chance I will call General Fitness Maine when my new treadmill eventually needs repairs.

Had a great experience with general fitness services! I bought a Matrix treadmill that is refurbished. Looks basically brand new and runs great and is very quiet. I run between 2-3000 miles a year and about 25-50% of those are spent on a treadmill. I had a non-commercial treadmill that I ran thousands of miles on, and it never felt as solid as this machine does, even brand new. I also think its great that you have access to trained staff to service the machine if it needs also. That was a problem with my other machine was finding someone and parts to service it. Go with this place, you won't be disappointed!

I bought a Kaiser M3i from them and it is awesome. They are wicked easy to work with and the bike is like new.....check their prices vs new! Worth every dollar!
