Fitness machine technicians did an okay job. Although they fixed my rowers and did a decent job with them, there were too many other issues that warrant me discontinuing my business with them. I disliked the lack of communication from the technician to myself. I brought up multiple times that I would like the communication to be improved between them and myself. Each time the main response I got was “that’s not how we do it,” “they couldn’t find you,” “read the report.” None of those tackle the issue that I brought up. When they finally came to actually to the repairs/maintenance, it seemed great. However, then my clients started to use the equipment and things were not fixed. I was disappointed in the service communication and the actual service. Bolts were left off of a bench they fixed, the pedal came off of a bike they fixed, and a screw for the wheel on a bike came off the same day that it had been maintenance. The bike got a new crankshaft. A client was on the bike when the whole pedal and arm came off the bike. I’m disappointed that something like that happened after being “fixed.” That had to have been a little scary for the gym member. It was about a week before they contacted me about the issues. When I did get contacted by the manager regarding the bike and the bench issue, I didn’t even get an apology. Instead, I got excuses for why those things may have happened. So I won’t be using this company going forward

Fitness Machine Technicians came out today for the first time to our gym. They serviced all of our cardio equipment, rowers, assault bikes, and spin bikes. WOW! I'm still in shock, our 7 year old rowers and bikes used daily in group exercise classes look brand new! The entire team was awesome to work with: customer service, their scheduler, and the technician that came out to our facility. He was extremely knowledgable, took the time while performing preventative maintenance to teach my husband and I how to take better care of our equipment, and had such a positive attitude. Can't wait for the next time they come out. Such a great team and great group of people.

Fitness Machine Techs is the company you want to use. Bryan came to my house to replace two pedals on a Cybex bike. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do. I will use them again if the need arises

Mike just serviced my equipment at HOTWORX in Wayne. He did an outstanding job! One of my bikes had a squeaking sounds that we could not fix after trying everything. He was able to fix that in a few minutes. He took all of the stress away that comes with owning this gym equipment. I will be using their services for years to come.

(EDITED) Here is an email I sent directly to this business on 11/19/24. I did not receive a response unless you count the response to my Google review: **** I initially contacted Fitness Machine Technicians in July to requesting a tune-up and service for my elliptical. When the technician arrived at my home on July 29, he discovered a bad connection on my machine within a few minutes. He then packed up and left. My husband specifically asked about when a technician was going to finish the job. He was told they would when they came back to do the repair with the new parts. Technicians returned to my house on August 28 and September 30, but with the wrong parts each time. We did not hear back about new parts until I called your business on Oct. 29. That's when I was told that the repair would not happen because new parts were unavailable. At that point I requested a refund and was told that I could expect a call from a manager soon. That never happened. This means that I have paid for a tune-up that has not been done, and will not be done, after nearly four months. None of this was communicated to me unless I initiated it. Given the circumstances, at least a partial refund is warranted. I look forward to hearing from you about when I can expect a refund. If I do not hear back by the end of this week, I will have no choice but to file a dispute with my credit card company because I paid for services that were not rendered. **** Edited to add: The business claims in its response that the parts to fix my machine were "ultimately unavailable." However, I found another local business that was able to find them within a few weeks and ultimately fix our elliptical, so they must have ultimately been available somewhere.

Full disclosure- I haven't had these guys repair anything for me. I submitted a request to repair my treadmill. They got right back to me and told me that they didn't repair my particular brand- but then gave me the name of someone who did. This is exactly the kind of company I would do business with- quick and honest. As I upgrade the fitness equipment I have at home, FMT will always be my first call to service them.

Great experience using Fitness Machine Technicians. David came out to my home and repaired an old treadmill that no one else would service. They are also able to get parts as needed. Smooth process from scheduling to completion of the job. Would definitely recommend.

I have been working with Fitness Machine Technicians for over 10 years. They are quick to respond and professional. They offer good service at an even better price. They are always fair and willing to help our client save money whenever possible. Our customer service ratings continue to be high in large part to their expert repairs that keep our equipment running.

I've worked with Don for 30 years in two different 150,000 square foot health clubs both high end facilities with very high customer expectations. Don has always been very responsive and easy to work with. He has also been able to navigate any issues finding parts for older equipment and has been quick to repair even the most challenging issues. Because of Don's efforts I have had no member complaints in either of my clubs regarding equipment downtime. I would recommend Don and his team to anyone in the industry.

When searching for a service provider when we opened our new fitness center in June 2019, Fitness Machine Technicians stood out above the rest. Since we started our relationship with FMT last summer they have been nothing but professional, responsive, and easy to work with. The technicians are always on time and do a great job of explaining an issue and talking you through the options. I highly recommend FMT.

Terrible experience. First of all the man who answers the phone and sets everything up (I believe George?) was pretty curt and rude, to be generous. The two guys who came to assemble my TuffStuff gym said "we don't know this brand, but they're all the same." When they were done, there were 14 parts left over - bolts, washers, pins, etc. I asked why, and they said "oh there are always extra parts on these things." When they gave me the bill, it was for $100 more than quoted amount, since "well it took us longer than we expected." I paid. After, I called the manufacturer and sent photos of the parts left over - they said all those needed to be installed and wasn't correctly done. I found a local company (Fitness Superstore) who came out and finished the install perfectly. Would AVOID!! Fitness Machine Techs.

Pat is the BEST!! Anything problem that arises with my fitness equipment is is able to find the problem and fix it!! He goes above and beyond... one time he even drove out to the local hardware store to get the parts we needed after the treadmill company sent the wrong thing!! Excellent customer service which is why we have used them for the past 5 years!!

As the Chairman of the Fitness Committee at our Club, it's my responsibility to choose and maintain the equipment in our full service fitness club at the Racquet Club. In addition, I have home equipment in my basement that I bought used and want to keep in good shape. I did some research and chose Fitness Machine Technicians as my service provider for both our club and my own equipment. FMT has been great, professional and well-trained techs that know my equipment. I use them for quarterly maintenance as well as my "in case of emergency" service provider. They arrive quickly when we have a problem with the equipment and have us up & running fast, usually the same day as they carry many of the parts needed for typical repairs. I never get gouged even in an emergency situation, their price for parts and labor is fair and using them for routine maintenance on the equipment helps us avoid problems that could take a piece of equipment out-of-service, a situation we always want to avoid. I have had a very good experience with Fitness Machine Technicians, both personally with my home equipment and with our commercial needs, and I highly recommend them for both applications! ~Chris D

Fitness Machine Technicians are reliable and get the job done! They have experts that are trained to service any line of equipment. Patrick Cahill took care of our Woodway treadmill and he was a pleasure to work with. Best in the Philadelphia Area!

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I would give them zero stars if I could. I have a warranty for my treadmill through ICON. My treadmill has an issue, in which it goes from 6mph to 13mph w/o notice. ICON farms out the service to Exertech. Exertech technician comes to the house. Well, local cops surround my house because the kid comes to my house in an unmarked vehicle and there have been break-ins in the neighborhood. Turns out the tech has a suspended drivers license. Anyway, he says the issue is with the lower board and "orders" the part. He never orders the part. Come to find out this is a ploy Extertech/ICON do to reduce the amount of time you have with the warranty. Called ICON to finally get the part ordered weeks later. I get the part. Install the part (because I wasn't waiting weeks for Exertech to come out), and here there is now a NEW issue with the upper board. Not sure what the first tech did, but now my stop button doesn't work. They send out a different tech. He "orders" the part. Once again, I have to check up 10 days later to find out he never ordered the part. But at least I can still jog on the treadmill since it's just the stop button not working. Not the case. Got up to speed and after a couple miles, it goes from 6mph to 13mph. Now I have 2 issues not resolved and I'm still waiting on parts. To give you an idea on timing. The 1st issue was reported on Aug 7th and it's Sept 16th and I'm in worse shape. What really floors me is that we tipped the techs that came to our door. Shame on me I guess. Well, we'll see what happens with the next company ICON sends to my door. I told them I don't want Exertech anywhere near my equipment. Hope this saves the next person from having to deal with this company. This is the 1st negative review I've given over the web, and it's completely warranted.

*Update 3/9/16* The owner of Exertech Malvern as well as our new technician, Sam, have made a significant effort to service our elliptical. It's not quite perfect yet, but they are trying to work with us for the best outcome. We still have to endure the incredibly slow process it takes to get parts, but that is the fault of ICON Fitness (NordicTrack) and not Exertech. Will update again once this 4 year long nightmare had been rectified. Terrible customer service. Have used them repeatedly by default through ICON Fitness with constant unresolved or worsened issues! You have to leave a message to be called back if you ever want to speak to someone...if they ever call back at all. Parts are ordered before anyone ever physically comes to assess the equipment to figure out what is actually wrong, delaying the repair by weeks to months. This company deserves zero stars.

After multiple attempts to get someone out to fix my elliptical, I finally had a technician scheduled (6 weeks later). I spoke with him on the phone personally, and he told me when he is scheduled at 8:00 a.m., he is there at 8. Then he showed up at 9:00 am., replaced the broken belts on my elliptical, and asked me to test it to make sure it worked. I did, and yes, it worked. Then he proceeded to tighten the screws so tightly that the next day when I went to use it, the pedal kept scraping the side of the encasement, making it again unusable. I called him back, and he admitted that the screws must be too tight. He said he would get back and fix it but he never did. Now I have an elliptical that I spent over 200.00 to fix, and the case had to be removed so that I can use it.

I am the franchise owner of Exertech in Wilmington DE, responding to the one negative review here. I can't see any other way to respond other than writing my own, so giving myself 4 stars to even things out. Yes, I hired a local young fellow who had minor issues with unpaid tickets (tinted windows). I'm proud to say I helped him get on his feet. He was actually arrested for this minor offense. He still works for me and is doing great. There is no collusion between me and Icon. If the part didn't get ordered, that is unacceptable and I apologize. I wish you had called me instead of going to Icon. It's possible that this was his first week on his own! I personally have over 15 years of experience. If there was a new issue after you installed your own part, I would have to wonder it it might have been you who "did something", or maybe it was just a new issue. That is certainly not unheard of.

Bryan and Dan did a great job setting up ourSole F80. They also made sure we knew how to care for it, and answered any questions. They also wore masks and socially distanced and wiped down the treadmill with disinfectant wipes. I will use this business for future tune ups as needed.

Professional and easy to schedule. Called ahead to confirm arrival time. Brian was personable, quite knowledgeable and serviced my treadmill expertly. I definitely recommend this company.
